Who we are

TeacherPay ("we", "us") operates ukteacherpay.co.uk. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and how we protect it, in line with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.

What we collect

• Calculator inputs (salary, region, student loan plan, etc.) are processed entirely in your browser to produce your result and are never sent to or stored on our servers unless you explicitly save a scenario to an account.
• Account data (email address, encrypted password) if you create an account, via Firebase Authentication.
• Newsletter signups (email address, the page you signed up from) if you subscribe.
• Contact form submissions (name, email, message) if you contact us.
• Payment data for Pro purchases is collected and processed entirely by Stripe, our payment processor — we never see or store your full card details.
• Usage analytics (pages viewed, approximate location from IP, device type) via Google Analytics, with IP anonymisation enabled.

How we use it

To provide the service you've asked for (an account, a Pro purchase, a reply to your message), to send the pay/pension update emails you've opted into (you can unsubscribe at any time), and to understand how the site is used so we can improve it.

Who we share it with

We use Firebase (Google) for authentication and data storage, Stripe for payment processing, and Google Analytics for usage analytics. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

Your rights

You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or withdraw consent for marketing emails at any time by contacting us. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you believe we've mishandled your data.

Data retention

We keep account data for as long as your account is active, and contact/newsletter records until you ask us to delete them or unsubscribe.
